Writing prompt – fresh, energized, and rejuvenated

I have to admit  that posting a response to this prompt was not as easy as I thought it would be. ‘….. an experience that left you fresh, energized, and rejuvenated ” …..I thought yes! this will take no time. Normally when any one is asked this question they wouldn’t have much of a problem saying an answer. I know what makes me feel energized and rejuvenated, but somehow expressing it was harder than making decision on whether or not to add fries to your happy meal. At first I wanted to say that working out makes me feel energized. Which it does, but getting into the details of why it makes me feel this way is not my favorite subject to talk about. For the past several months I’ve been using my workouts as my main stress reliever of my hellish 9 to 5.  (Just thinking about it puts me in a tailspin. I had to indulged in a cookies and cream candy bar to calm myself down….I know, talk about stress eater). Then I thought about vacations. They help me to feel fresh and energi-..  oh, yea, I don’t go on those because I don’t have the money to go beyond 40 miles of where I live. Bummer. But how about my weekends. No! The weekend is mostly me running errands around town and counting down to the dreaded Mondays.

Side note: Writing this makes me realize that I may need set more time to dedicate to more rejuvenation and relaxation.

Most people don’t understand why I choose to eat a salad or fresh veggies as a snack over french fries or potato chips. It’s because I value my health! When I blog, I am connecting with hundreds of people who understand why I make these decisions. Even though I try to explain the benefits of eating the food that I consume to the naysayers and doubters of my snack choices, I don’t really don’t get through to them. Most people want to keep living the same life the same way while wishing and praying for different results. They have to be willing to make changes in order to see changes. Hopefully  I can reach  them one day.

Then it hit me. Despite my claims of all things stressful in my life I have felt more focused in the last few weeks than I have in the past 6 months. Ever since I dedicated time to develop a blog where I can share my thoughts and opinions on the things in my life I feel more fresh, energized, and rejuvenated.

It turns out the answer was not too hard to express after all.

So am I glad that I’ve found a way to share what makes me happy in my life while in return feeling fresh, energized, and rejuvenated…. YES! I am glad to be apart of a community that offers me fresh insight on different perceptions, energizes me to continue to write new, creative posts and rejuvenates my spirit to start new everyday.

  1. I saw myself is your post. I spent a solid ten years eating the same foods and hoping for different results. Last fall I decided to own my health and have dropped 30 pounds by changing my eating habits and exercising more. Now I’m amazed at my friends and family who think I should go back to my old eating habits. It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change. Thanks for showing that I’m not the only one looking to improve me for me.

    1. That is so amazing. I’m so glad that you were able to makes chnages in your lifestyle for the better. As you can tell I was a victim of the same mindset. I would cut down on what I ate, lose weight then go back to what I was eating before. It just takes time and everyone moves at their own pace. I know more people will be open to changing their health.
