Life Quote

When I saw this quote pinned by my sister a few months ago it stuck with me. For the past couple of years I’ve felt like I was on auto mode -living life but not quite enjoying it as I should. Yes, I have goals I want to accomplish, places I want like to see, and people I want love to meet, but somehow something is holding me back. I tell myself the usual excuses, don’t have the time, I need to focus on something else, or no money to spare. It’s strange how I’ve been able to make time for the mundane tasks that I do everyday, but when it comes to enjoying life I create road blocks.

I talk to friends and co-workers all the time about their travels and wonder how are they able to separate themselves from their busy lives and not worry about all the stressful things in life.   One day someone told me that you’ll have to make time for yourself. A statement that I have known and heard before of course but at that moment I realized that I haven’t been enjoying my life. It came as a disappointment because I vowed that I would always take the time to enjoy life and the great sites of the world.

So I could proclaim that from now on, I will take long weekend trips every couple of months or dedicate a month to splurge on myself, but as time can tell, that has not been the best method for me. However, I think I will use this quote as a reminder to step away from my busy life. Learn how to celebrate life and the amazing things that the world has to offer. Afterall, what is the point of living if you can’t enjoy it.

  1. Start out doing something small. Maybe a trip to a nearby town. Shop at stores you never had before. Be selfish with your time. If your friends aren’t the type to do spontaneous excursions, find new friends who will. And most of all, don’t be afraid of going alone. Blessing.

    1. Thanks emmalmoore! I will definitely start doing that first because that sounds like a good idea. I have some ideas that I’ve been thinking about for awhile so I’m just gonna take that leap and go for it.
